Heritage Gold

Company Profile

Heritage Gold is a diversified mining exploration company that is focussed on finding, developing and packaging mineral properties in Australasia.

The company holds tenements of significant value in the southern part of the Coromandel Peninsula at Waihi: a region of epithermal gold deposits that has produced some of the richest gold bearing orebodies in the world.

Publicly listed on the New Zealand and Australia stock exchanges, Heritage Gold began with an initial focus to acquire prime gold areas in the Coromandel region - the heartland of the New Zealand gold industry.

The company has 5,754 hectares of exploration and mining tenements close to Newmont Gold's Martha open pit mine at Waihi.

Heritage has focussed its attention on Mount Karangahake, approximately 12 kilometres to the west of Waihi. Here it holds the historic Talisman underground gold mine under a mining permit and land to the north at Rahu that is considered to be the northern extension of the quartz vein structures of this mine. The Talisman mine is the second largest historic gold producer in New Zealand with production of 1 million oz of gold and 3 million oz of silver.

With its strategy to create shareholder wealth by developing diversified mining assets Heritage Gold has its Australian mineral exploration portfolio in cobalt and base metal interests at Thackaringa in New South Wales. These are being developed by Broken Hill Prospecting Limited, a company in which Heritage has a 33% interest.
